The sleeve is closed by a metal plug r provided with a split pin s engaging a slot in the spindle. The sleeve is secured to the base q together with radial contact pieces p by a boss n. An annular anode u is connected to a ring v on the outside of the barrel engaging a contact brush w. The spindle c is mounted in a bearing d, the inclination of which may be varied by a lever f actuated by a screw g and hand-wheel i. Motion is communicated to the spindle from a shaft e by a worm j and worm-wheel k. A negative terminal n is mounted on the bearing d.
