Abstract

295,672. Enock, A. G. May 6, 1927. Dividerd on 295,666. Bottling.-Relates to bottle filling and closuring apparatus of the t y p e in which crated bottles are lifted separately from the bottom bars or wires forming the basee of the crates. According to the invention bottles are lifted to filling heads &c. a by means of a number of separate pedestals b which enter and embrace the wires of a crate without lifting or disturbing the crate. Two sets of pedestals may be provided for lifting bottles of different capacities, which are mounted on a bar at right angles to each other and are operated by a cam or cams C after the pedestals have been rotated into the operative position. The pedestals may alternatively be mounted on separate bars and be operated by separate cams. Crates of bottles D are delivered over the pedestals along a runway E by a chain conveyer.. The chain conveyer is arranged to travel intermittently to compensate in the forward movement of the crates for the uneven spacing of the bottles.
