Abstract
294,012. TondÚur, P. Sept. 8, 1927. Roofs, slating and tiling.-Slates and tiles are secured to their supports by sheet metal clips formed of two or three pieces connected together to allow for variations in the size of the slates and expansion of the framework. The main portion of the clip is a strip 1, Fig. 1, folded to receive the lower slate 16 and with hooked ends 2, 5 to grip the upper slate and one edge of a support; a second strip 7 is riveted or slidably secured by a rivet and slot to the lower limb, and its ends are bent over the edges of the support. In a modification for angle iron supports. Fig. 4, the strip 7 is secured to a clip 23 by a bolt or tongue and slot, and a similar device is used for channel-iron supports. Fig. 7 shows a form consisting of three strips 1, 27, 41; the strip 27 is forked to receive a hook 39 on the main strip, the prongs 37 of the fork are bent under the support, and the free end of the strip 27 is bolted to a clip 41.
