Stands.-A sewing- machine provided with a stand in the form of a cabinet in which both the machine and its driving mechanism are hidden when not in use, is mounted on a flap j connected by a pair of cables f passing over pulleys f to the treadle-pivot y so that dropping of the flap lifts the treadle g. The cables are secured to the flap by apertured members o on brackets p, Fig. 3, in such a way that their length may be adjusted. Specifications 253,553 and 295,409 are referred to.
