Heating by electricity.- An immersion heater comprises a flat casing consisting of metal plates A enclosing plates B of insulating material, between which the heating element or elements C are inserted, the edges of the casing being parallel at a part thereof and tapering towards the outer end a socket D at the opposite end of the casing, a tube E secured at one end to the socket, an insulating handle F carrying a bayonet cap G and secured to the tube, and leads passing from the cap to the elements.
