292,409. Molkentin, E., and Schwabbauer, R. July 7, 1927, [Convention date]. Addition to 291,073. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Protectors, securing.-A device for fixing interchangeable heel pads of the kind described in the parent Specification comprises a metal pin b, carrying the heel pad, which in addition to having it inner end resiliently flared as at c, Fig. 2, is made hollow and has its shank made conical to fit into a coned sleeve a, Fig. 1, fixed in the permanent part of the heel. The connection is made by pressing the hollow pin b into the sleeve a when the resilient end c slips through the sleeve and cap and above it. The sleeve a is held in the permanent part of the heel by a member g and the pin a has a collar h for maintaining it in a set position in tile heel pad with an extension i engaging indentations in the pad. One or two such devices may be used for securing a single heel pad. Heel pieces may be further secured by nails to prevent possible rotation.
