Abstract

S i g n s, supporting and securing. - In changeable signs the blanks forming the integers from which the sign is built up are integrally formed with means whereby they can be frictionally interlocked to form a sign without further support. Fig. 1 shows locking means comprising a channelled base B tapering from one end to the other to permit the smaller end of one element entering the larger end of the adjacent element. A flange, C may be turned up on the open side of the channel at the larger end to assist in spacing the integers and the bases B may be curved. In Fig. 2 is shown a form in which the blanks A on which the letters, numbers, &c, are stencilled, painted, cut, mounted, &c. are turned down at one edge M to engage a doubled edge N on the adjacent blank.
