Abstract
291,774. Siemens & Halske Akt.-Ges. June 10, 1927, [Convention date]. Inductances.-The winding of a high frequency furnace is divided up into two or more insulated bands set on edge and of such slight thickness that the cross section is completely used for conducting the current, and the windings are arranged so that their resistances, impedances, and inductive actions on the charge are equal. Figs. 1 and 4 show a furnace having four windings a - - d, arranged in parallel, change of radial position of each winding occurring at points s<3>. Fig. 6 shows a furnace with three windings connected in series. A formula for calculating the thickness of the bands is given.
