Abstract

291,604. Frost, T., and Frost, T. June 2, 1927. Animal-carrying vehicles.-Horse boxes having two compartments arranged in staggered rotation to one another are adapted to be loaded and unloaded at either side and are provided with ramps hinged to two parts so that when lowered ramps of considerable length are provided to give an easy gradient. As shown the horse box is divided into two animal compartments 3, 4 and a compartment for the attendant. A hinged partition 6 separates the two animal compartments which are provided with mangers 5. Rubbing boards 11, 12 are provided, the boards 12 also forming guides for the animals when entering or leaving the vehicle. The ramps 7 are hinged at the centre and provided with adjustable legs 14. The ramps are operated by a winch from the driver's compartment 8 by means of cords 15 and pulleys or by controlling springs or both devices. The horse box is adapted for railway transport.
