Abstract

291,410. Knoller, E. June 1, 1927, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Friction gearing. - The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises means for supporting rolling members in friction gearing to obviate the effect of lateral disturbing forces. A roller 2, Figs. 2 and 2a, turns on an axle 1 with semicylindrical ends 10, 11 supported in like recesses 12 in a cage 13. The virtual axis 8, Fig. 2a, of the cylinder is inclined so that the roller is free to turn from side to side like the front wheel of a bicycle. In a form shown in Fig. 3, the cage element 13 has a shank 14 free to move axially of a cross pivot 15 so as to produce the precessional axis 8. A form is described having a shank which is resilient. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
