Grinding interfitting parts together.-A tool for grinding-in valves of internal-combustion engines consists of a casing 1 having a hand-grip 3 and a hollow extension 4 in which is rotatably mounted a spindle 5 carrying a valve-engaging member 10. The spindle is oscillated, with a progressive forward movement, by a star-wheel 6 thereon having, for example, five spokes, which are engaged by pins 9 on a drum 7 rotated by a handle 8. One end of the drum carries, for example, three pins and the other end carries a smaller number of pins, for example, two, so that the star-wheel isrotated three spokes forwards followed by a rotation of two spokes backwards. For engaging. valves provided with two apertures, the member 10 consists of a slotted bush carrying two adjustable right-angled members 19, clamped in position by a screw 15. For valves with a screwed aperture, the member 10 consists, Fig. 10, of a split screwed bush 23 which is tapered internally and may be expanded by a conical head 26 on a shank 25 screwing into an extension 22 of the bush.
