Abstract

Rollers, applying detachable covers to.-In roller-covering apparatus of the type in which the cover is carried over the part to be covered on spring fingers a, the fingers are gripped between members m, f drawn together axially by studs f<4> or the like. The member m, Fig. 4, is formed with a slotted enlargement m<4>, over the periphery of which the member f is passed, and the fingers a are passed through the spacing- slots thus formed, before the studs f<4> are tightened, and by end-pressure are forced over the shoulder m<5> on the member m. The fingers a may be of brass or other alloy or metal and if of steel are softened before insertion between the parts m, f. A fiat may be formed on the periphery of the part m to facilitate attachment to a member, such as c, employed to effect end movement of the apparatus during the covering operation.
