Weighing-apparatus. - A weighing and ticket-printing machine of the type wherein the printing of the weight of the person on the scale platform is effected through the medium of coin-controlled mechanism which brings into position a ticket to be printed and, upon the hand-operation of an actuating member, ejects the ticket from the machine, is provided with a simal device and means connected to the actuating member for operating the signal device to indicate to the attendant that the operation been completed and that the scale is in readiness for another operation. The invention is described in connection with a machine wherein the tickets are automatically cut from a continuous strip as described in Specification 277,600, but may be applied also to machines wherein the tickets are supplied from a magazine. As described in the abovte-meutioned Specification, after the insertion of a coin, an actuating member 153 pivoted on a pin 153<a> is pressed downward by the person on the scale platform and is then released, to return under spring action, thus effecting the ticket printing, cutting and delivering operations. During the downward movement of the actuating member 153 a pin 150 thereon, moves down an inclined face K in a lever G, C, and after rocking the lever to the right and reaching the limit of its downward movement, runs off the face thus allowing the lever G, C to return under spring action and cause a spring-mounted strike B upon the lever to sound a bell A. This signal informs the attendant in charge, that the machine is still in operation. As described in the abovementioned Specification mechanism is provided to prevent a reversal of the movement of the actuating member until a complete stroke has been made, and the coin slit is closed until the coin-actuated parts are re-set by the descent of the actuating member. Hence if the person on the platform fails to complete the downward stroke of the actuating member, no signal is given and the coin slot remains closed. When in this condition the machine might be regarded as out of operation by prospective patrons, and the absence of the customary signal warns the attendant.
