Abstract
288,272. Kermektchiew, S. March 26, 1928. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, April, 10, 1928]. Resistance to propulsion, reducing. - Bodies propelled through a fluid have their resistance to propulsion reduced by inducing a flow of fluid over the surface of the body in a direction opposite to the normal fluid flow consequent on the motion of the body. This end is achieved by arranging on the side of the body in the direction of motion a device such as a fan the intake of which is arranged to induce the flow of fluid required, and as shown by the arrows in the figure. Alternatively, twin fans or propellers rotating in opposite directions may be employed.
