Abstract
288,049. Bischitzky, F. May 23, 1927. Precipitating.-Tin is dissolved from its alloys or mechanical mixtures such as lathe turnings, composition dross, &c. by treatment with hydrochloric acid containing as catalysts, dissolved salts, which have no oxidizing action, such as chlorides, sulphates, phosphates or borates, paxticularly those with a high ionization constant such as calcium chloride, sodium sulphate, or magnesium chloride. The solutions obtained are used to treat fresh quantities of metal. Metallic copper and antimony are precipitated from the solution in a form which can be washed from the undissolved granules.
