Abstract

287,728. Coverley, O. R., and Rendle, V. April 12, 1927. Plates, dishes, and the like, washing.-A machine for washing crockery and the like, comprising a basket rotatable in a casing 1 through which the cleansing water is circulated, is characterized by the basket 23, Figs. 1 and 2, being formed of segmental sections 26 radially detachable. The sections are provided with interengaging tongues and socket in the sides 32 and with segmental pieces 29 engaging recesses 30, Fig. 5, in a hub post carried on the central spindle 18. A motor 6 drives a pump 11, preferably submerged in the tank 7, and forces water through radial pipes 22 provided with jets which impinge on plates in the basket and cause rotation thereof. Additional vertical pipes with jets may be provided. The tank 7 is heated by a burner 10, and an outlet pipe 20 discharges water from the casing 1. The cover 24 of the casing is hinged and is shaped, as shown, to direct the condensed water to the sides.
