Abstract

287,382. Steyn, H. P. C. July 26, 1927. Gravity-feed lubricators. - In a lubricator adapted to feed against steam, compressed air, or like pressure, comprising a lubricant container a which is sealed at its upper end and has an outlet c in its supporting stem b controlled by a valve k and in which a separate pressure-equalizing pipe e<1> controlled by a separate valve o communicates with the source of pressure and opens into the upper part of the container above the lubricant, the container is provided with a filling funnel d<1> which communicates with the container through a cock d and which is disposed with its upper edge below the outlet of the pipe e<1> into the container. A relief cock p is fitted in the top of the container. The pipe e<1> may be arranged within the container and communicate with a duct e in the stem b, or may be arranged outside the container. The lower part of the container may be recessed around the top of the outlet c to form a sediment trap.
