Sleepers, securing rails to. - U-shaped clips 4, which engage keys 4k to secure flange rails 3 to sleepers 2 and have a rear projection 4f bearing on the sleepers, are provided with . stems having backs 4<b> of cylindrical profile engaging similarly shaped surfaces of slots 2b in the sleeper. Both surfaces are struck from the same radius, but the width of the slots 2<b> is enlarged to allow a slight angular movement of the clips about a vertical axis. The stems of opposite clips are of different thickness so that the gauge can be adjusted by transposing the clips.
