Abstract

Cigar and cigarette holders; ashtrays.-A cigar or cigarette holder a is adapted to be held in the hand for smoking purposes or to be supported in a vertical position by a socket or projection in an ash-tray f or to stand in a vertical position upon a horizontal surface. As shown in Fig. 3, the holder is provided with a spring clip d for engaging a cigar or cigarette, and is weighted at the base by means of a metal disc c. In modifications, the base of the holder is internally coned to engage a coned projection on the tray, or is rounded to engage a correspondingly curved depression in the tray, the rounded base being weighted so that the holder will assume a vertical position if placed on its side. A modification of the tray, Fig. 6 is in three parts 1, 2. 3 hinged to enable the parts 1, 3 to be closed on the holder a.
