Abstract

281,365. Vidal, A. E., (Riedel Akt.-Ges., J. D.). Aug. 27, 1926. Samples furnished. Ureides of the formula R<1> R<11> CH. NH. CO. NH2, in which R<1> represents a saturated or unsaturated aliphatic radicle and R<11> denotes allyl, and prepared in known manner from the corresponding acids, acid halides or acid amides. The products are useful as sedatives and hypnotics. According to the examples, (1) isopropylallylacetic and is treated with thionyl chloride and the resulting acetylchloride heated with urea to give isopropylallylacetylurea ; alternatively, the isopropylallylacetylchloride is converted with ammonia into the acetamide and the latter heated for some time with cyanic acid, whereby the same product is obtained as before; (2) sec-butylmalonic acid dimethyl ester is transformed into its sodium compound, heated with allyl bromide and the product saponified; the resulting sec-butylallymalonic and is then converted into the corresponding acetic acid. which is reacted first with thionyl chloride and then with urea, yielding sec-butylallylacetylureide.
