Radiations, treating substances with. - A device for treating liquids or other substances by means of chemical substances which have been subjected to emanations from radio-active substances consists of a lead &c. cylinder 1, formed with a constricted neck 2, and closed at the top by a disc 4 and at the base by a disc 3, preferably formed of the same material as the body. Apertures 5 in the disc 4 allow a wire ring 6 to be inserted, by which the device is suspended and from which is hung a phial 7 containing the chemical substance. An opening 9 closed by a heavy valve 10 allows the liquid in which the device is suspended to enter. When treating bodies other than liquids, the container is first immersed in a liquid and then suspended in or near the material to be treated.
