Turning. - Apparatus for collecting dust while racing or trueing the sides of grindstones comprises a box a on each side of the stone, with an open side c towards the stone, and an opening a<1> on the top side through which dust is drawn by a fan. Above each box is a canvas screen held by frames and springs to allow the racing iron h to be used, and to throw the dust down. The fan draws dust from the boxes and from the trough of the grindstone, and passes it to a tank or filter. The dust receivers or boxes a may be laterally adjusted, e.g. by a screw working in a slot.
