Abstract

279,757. Port, C. July 16, 1927. Tobacco; snuff. - Nicotine is removed from tobacco products, such as cigars, cigarettes, pipe and chewing tobacco, and snuff, by subjecting for 2 to 6 days in a storage chamber to warm, moist air and then heating quickly in a closed vessel to about 150‹C. while the steam generated is drawn off by a pump or the like. The process may be repeated.
