Buoys.-A device for facilitating the escape of the crew from a sunken submarine comprises a collapsible shaft 4 which may be released by opening a sliding door 3, whereupon the shaft is extended to the surface by an inflatable buoy 5. The top of the shaft 5 is closed by a door 14 which may be opened from the inside or the outside.
