Abstract
279,435. Zeiss, C., [Firm of]. Oct. 23, 1926, [Convention date]. Lens fittings.-A hood for objectives whose mounts b project from the lens panel a comprises a bell-shaped rigid body f, Fig. 1, whose narrow end may be slipped over the front part c of the mount, and whose height g is such that, when the hood f is removed and replaced in reversed position, the whole of the projecting part of the mount is protected by the hood from injury. The hood may be made of metal, vulcanite, vulcanized fibre, &c. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes also a hood h, Fig. 4 (Cancelled), of flexible material such as rubber, which is adapted to be folded back, without removal from the mount c, from the forwardly-extending operative position into the closed position shown in which it protects the lens mount. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
