Abstract
279,199. Lyons & Co., Ltd., J., and Herbert, S. G. Aug. 19, 1926. Drawers and like fittings. - Trays and like receptacles for transporting foodstuffs in road vehicles have metal corner bindings made from a piece of sheet metal which is so cut that it can be folded to embrace all four sides of the side and end members of the receptacle. The corner-pieces 6, Fig. 5, are formed from a metal blank and embrace both the sides 2 and ends 2a. The bottom or base 3 is, as shown in Fig. 1, secured to the sides, ends and corner-pieces by means of metal runners 4 and securing-means such as screws passing through the runners into the sides &c. In the modification shown in Fig. 3 the sides 2 and ends 2a are provided with metal channel runners 5 which together with the sides and ends are embraced by the corner-pieces 6. The base 3 is recessed into the sides and ends and secured in place by the corner-pieces 6 which may also be secured to the sides and ends by screws from the inner sides.
