Abstract

278,299. Hillier, H. June 29, 1926. Separate heater and evaporator apparatus.-In evaporators of the kind described in Specification 278,075 the tubes 12 decrease in length from bottom to top of the headers 8, 10. Each individual tube being shorter than the one immediately below it or successive groups of tubes 12<a>,22<b>, 12<c> being decreased in length by stepping the header plate 8. In the latter case guide plates 17, 18 are provided to lead the treated liquid to the surface. The lower tubes 11 are of greater diameter than the upper ones.
