276,763. St. Helens Cable & Rubber Co., Ltd., and Harrison, H. C. June 17, 1926. Moulding indiarubber.-Crepe rubber soles and other tread surfaces are formed with a non-skid pattern by pressing into the crepe while in a cold state a heated frame of woven wire &c. and withdrawing the frame after cooling; alternatively the crepe may be gently heated, as by warm water, and the frame pressed in cold. The crepe may be left unvulcanized or the sides and/or the non- skid surface may be cured by the Peachey process, the cured surfaces being protected from the action of the vulcanizing gases by glazed linen &c. or coated with glue, casein or other neutralizing agent.
