Endless-track vehicles.-A non-skid chain adapted to encircle two driving wheels and of the kind having a plurality of shoe. members connected together by links is characterized by any of the following features :-(1) each shoe a, Figs. 1, 3 and 4, is provided, for and aft, with a lug or projection to which a link d is pivoted, the ether end of the link being pivoted on a lug of the adjacent shoe, (2) each shoe is transversely elongated and is formed with peripheral flanges a<3>, Fig. 3, fore and aft, (3) the shoes have central projections b adapted to be positioned between twin tyres c<1>, c<2>, Fig.4, each projection carrying lugs or bolts to which the links dare pivoted. The projections b do not form a driving connection between the wheels and the chain, the drive being transmitted by the adhesion between the wheels and those shoes which ane, at the moment, under the wheels. Studs or the like may be provided on the inner faces of the shoes to increase the grip between the wheels and the shoes. Where single-tyred wheels are used each shoe may be provided with a transverse bar l, Fig. 10, adapted to overhang the tyre and position the shoe on the wheel. The ends of the chain are connected together by a hook-andeye arrangement which may be adjustable in length, or the length of the chain may be altered by the use of adjustable links. One or more shoes may be provided with a detachable spud secured by means of a hook and a bolt. The flanges a<3> may extend round the whole periphery of the shoe.
