Abstract

276,266. Marks, E. C. R., (Barrymore Concrete Mixer Corporation). March 30, 1927. Stationary mixers with rotary stirrers.-A concrete mixer comprises a trough on the longitudinal edges of which are arranged water tanks; the trough can be tilted about one end for discharging, and is furnished with a longitudinal shaft having spirally-arranged spade-like blades. The ends of the trough are provided with removable upper parts to facilitate removal of the shaft, and the apparatus is mounted on a truck. The tank 1, Fig. 1 is mounted on a frame 2 pivoted at the rear to a truck chassis 4, and is provided with inturned upper edges 5; a hinged door 28 is provided at the rear end. The tanks 17, connected by a cross pipe 18, discharge through a number of valved outlets 23 which are simultaneously controlled by a connecting rod 25. The stirrers are spirally arranged on a shaft 9, Fig. 2, which can be removed on removing the upper parts 6, 7 of the tank ends, and comprise spade-like ends 10, Fig. 7, mounted on curved stems 13.
