Abstract

275,259. Tecalemit, Ltd., (Assignees of Soc. Anon. des Etablissements TÚcalÚmit). July 31, 1926, [Convention date]. Actuating by electric power.-In a pump for a lubricating system for motor-vehicles, the pump plunger 9 is secured to the core 10 of an electromagnet, in the circuit of the winding 11 of which are included a manually operated switch 18 and an automatic switch 18<a>, which latter is in mechanical connection with the plunger and is actuated at the end of each suction or discharge stroke so as to ensure the continuous operation of the pump so long as the switch 18 is kept closed. The switches may operate through a re-lay switch 17. The pump draws lubricant from a renewable container 1 through a pipe 2<1> which projects slightly above the base of the container so as to prevent the entrance of impurities into the pipe, and discharges through a pipe 21 having branches leading to the parts to be lubricated. The automatic switch comprises an insulated ring 43 carried by a spring 42 secured to a sleeve 35 slidable on a fixed tube 36 projecting into a recess in the core 10. A pin 40 carried by the core 10 engages a groove 41 in the sleeve, the movement of the sleeve being limited bv a pin 38. The ring 43 normally closes the circuit, but when the circuit is energized by closing the switch 18, the core is drawn into the winding and, at the end of the stroke, the pin 40 causes the sleeve to move, thus breaking the circuit. A spring 13 then effects the return stroke, the pin 40 causes the sleeve to move to close the circuit, and the operation is repeated. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) the automatic switch may be omitted. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
