Hand driving-mechanism.-In a toggle linkage lifting appliance, the operating handle 17, Fig. 4, may have a T-piece end, not shown, for twohanded manipulation and has a squared socket 22 adapted to engage the radiused end 12<1> of the spindle 11 and be secured thereon by a spring clip 18 fitting into a groove 19, Fig. 6, in the socket so as to engage the spindle end. A modified handle connection comprises a flexible double-ended sleeve 21, Fig. 7, adapted to engage the ends of the spindle and operating handle.
