Fixed- and moving- chamber apparatus.-A liquid-measuring device of the kind comprising a rotatable measuring-vessel is made with two supplementary non-moving observation chambers alternately receiving a measured volume of liquid and provided with discharge valves operated by the rotation of the movable measuring vessel. The measuring vessel 2 is divided by a partition 3 into two measuring- chambers a, b each with an outlet 4, 5 and an outlet valve controlled bv a stationary cam 6. The casing 1 extends downwards in the form of a receptacle 7 divided by a partition 8 into two observation compartments 9, 10. Each compartment has an outlet valve 11, 12, connected by links 13, 14 to a balance lever 15 with an upstanding arm 17 engaged by projections 18, 19 on the vessel 2, and a float 20, 21 mounted on guide rods 22, 23 and connected to a lever 24 which at its middle point is connected to a link 25 connecting it to a lever 26, a link 27, and a device, not shown, which locks the vessel 2, when both chambers 9. 10 contain liquid, and both floats are raised. In the position shown, the liquid from the chamber b is flowing into the chamber 9, while the chamber 10 is discharging through the valve 12. The float 20 rises, and the float 21 falls, moving the locking-device, and releasing the vessel 2. The chamber b being emptied, and the chamber a full, the vessel 2 rotates, the valves 11, 12 are reversed, and the chamber a discharges into the chamber 10.
