Plane trigonometry calculators.- The vector-triangle solving apparatus of the parent Specification is modified to enable the resultant quantities to be indicated automatically after the course settings have been made. For this purpose one of the arms is dispensed with and all the cursors of the four remaining arms are linked together. As shown in the Figure, there are only two arms, namely d and q, to represent the courses steered. The cursor e on arm d is provided with a drift angle scale and a pointer g connected by an extensible link with the wind cursor l at k. Another drift angle scale concentric with the base is carried by the arm q at its outer end to enable the ground course arm d<2> to be set. As in the parent case the three cursors r, s, l are connected by a pantograph linkage t so that after the arms q and d have been set to the respective air courses and the arms d<2> and g to the corresponding drift angles, the wind and ground speed vectors can immediately be read off by reference to the arms m and d<2>.
