Abstract

Pads; knee-caps. -A kneeling pad for workmen, also applicable as a kneecap for animals, is formed of flexible material and is so shaped as to protect the leg, knee-cap, and thigh and to conform readily to bending movements without the parts of the pad overlapping. The pad is preferably formed from a sheet of rubber with a textile lining, such as may be furnished by a worn motor-car tyre. The pad blank 1, in flat position, has a curved upper edge 5, a straight lower edge 6, and side edges 3 each provided with a recess 7 forming a narrow neck portion 19 to facilitate bending. The recesses are defined in the blank by parallel sides 10, 11 and a cut-away portion 9. The pad is secured on the wearer by straps and buckles 24, 25 arranged in slots 20, 21 in the pad and passing both above and below the knee.
