Abstract
272,939. Naamlooze Vennootschap Nederlandsche Kunstzijdefabriek. June 16, 1926, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Cellulose xanthates, processes for making filaments from.-Artificial textile threads less glossy than artificial silk, and having a dull appearance, are obtained by employing a viscose containing sulphides, sulphites, thiosulphates or other substances which, during spinning, give rise to the deposition of sulphur. The threads are washed, bleached and dried, but they must not be subjected to the usual desulphurizing process. Threads so obtained may be used for the manufacture of hosiery and other knitted goods, fabrics &c., and for such purposes they may be used alone or mixed with other materials such as artificial silk, in which case goods showing contrasting lustre or colour effects are obtained. In an example, one per cent of sodium sulphite is added to the viscose, and the solution is spun into a bath as described in Specification 2485/15.
