Abstract

272,844. Calabi, A. G. June 16, 1926, [Convention date]. Strap fastenings; hasp fastenings.- The invention relates to adjusting and quick-release means for the belt of parachute harness. A buckle 7, Figs. 1 and 2, is hinged to the hinged lids 4 of boxes 2 which are adjustably positioned, by teeth 8 on the lids 4, on chains 1 mounted on one end A<1> of the belt. The buckle 7 engages hooks 10 on a plate 9 fixed to the other end A of the belt and is held by springs 18 fixed to a member 14 hinged to the plate 9. The member 14 carries spring-pressed locking-bolts 12 which engage holes 11 in flanges on the plate 9. Finger-levers 16 can be operated on landing to release the bolts 12 and raise the buckle 7 to release belt; the lids 4 are also raised against springs 19.
