Abstract

271,912. Turner, P. W. Dec. 1, 1925. Ornamenting. - Surfaces are protected against air, water, &c. by coating them with a paint of the kind described in Specification 272,142, [Class 95, Paints &c.], covering the coated surfaces with a fabric or with fibres, and applying a further coating of the paint. A thin fabric of fairly open weave is preferred, which may be wetted and allowed to shrink on in situ. Any fabric made by knitting, weaving, netting, &c. may be employed. The fabric may be impregnated with the paint before application, if desired, with optional subsequent coatings of the paint. If fibres, such as asbestos fibres, are used instead of fabric, they are applied while the first coating of paint is still tacky. The Provisional Specification describes also the paint described in Specification 272,142, [Class 95, Paints &c.], with the following optional components :-mica, alumina, and graphite.
