Abstract
271,882. Sch÷n et Cie, Akt.-Ges. Oct. 6, 1925, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Patterns for moulding metal dies used in pressing pasteboard shoe-fillers, as described in Specification 259,575, are made by casting gypsum in a box vertically adjustable below a universally adjustable last. The last A is slightly larger than the original to allow for shrinkage of the iron of which the dies are cast and is carried by a bolt Y in a ball joint X. The box G is inserted between fillets F, Fig. 3, on a table D raised by a non-rotary screw C and a nut B to abut adjustable stops E when at the correct level. The box G, Fig. 1, is filled with gypsum which forms the pattern for the bottom die. To make the side dies a box with additional walls H, Fig. 3 is used and this is filled with sand to the level corresponding to the lower die. A sheet metal separator is arranged longitudinally on top of the last A and two gypsum patterns are cast, one on each side of the separator.
