Abstract

Cables with artificially modified capacity. - A telephone .cable for transmitting a wide frequency band, particularly for use in connection with the broadcasting of music, comprises a number of pairs of .conductors, each pair surrounded by a lead covering, and the pairs of conductors thus enclosed in a lead covering stranded together and enclosed in a common armouring. In the construction shown, each of the copper conductors a is surrounded by a paper wrapping b which is preferably made thicker than usual to keep the capacity of the cores low. The pairs of conductors a are then covered with a paper braiding c and a lead sheath d. The separate pairs are tnen stranded together with jute braids e and are covered with a band f of woven material, a layer g of jute, and armouring wires h.
