Abstract

271,621. Graham, J. E. April 28, 1926. Balls, cleaning. - Relates to a device for cleaning golf and similar halls, of the type comprising an outer rigid casing of substantially cylindrical form with both ends open and in which is located a hollow cylindrical cleaning' element, formed for example of spongy rubber, natural sponge, fabric rings or bristles, and consists in providing the open ends of the casing with internally-projecting flanges having apertures therein for the passage of the ball. As shown in the Figure, a two-part casing 4, 5 of aluminium contains spongy rubber 12, or bristles, backed by a rubber washer 13. Openings 9, 11, respectively smaller and larger than the diameter of the ball are provided in the end flanges 6, 7. Water spaces 14, 15 are formed in the flanges. One end of the device mav be formed as a removable lid. In using the device the ball is passed through the aperture 11 until stopped by the washer 13, and is given a rotary movement so as to be cleaned by the sponge rubber 12.
