270,839. English Electric Co., Ltd., and Ayres, W. E. M. Feb. 25, 1926. Drawings to Specification. Regulating transformers.-In voltage regulation arrangements involving an induction regulator with rotor and stator windings in series and a switch for changing over connections of an exciting transformer to the rotor or stator respectively, the switch is interlocked with the rotor so as to make the change in the minimum voltage position. The regulator is in series relationship with the supply. The interlock may take any form, electrical or mechanical, and the switch may control the connections through contactors. The Specification describes an arrangement of split contact rings on the rotor shaft co-operating with fixed brushes and refers also to an alternative arrangement of quick-break switches operated by a quick thread worm on the shaft.
