Abstract
270,833. Palmer, T. R. Feb. 22, 1926. Cases.-A battery container is provided with lifting means consisting of a spring metal band 14 provided with loops 15 as shown in Fig. 3. The band is sprung over shoulders 17 formed on the container. Fig. 7 shows a modification in which the band is replaced by two separate metal strips 16<1>, the ends 35 of which are bent down and engage shoulders 36 on the container. Each strip is provided with a holding loop 15. Fig. 9 shows a further modification in which the loop 15 is formed in a bent portion 52 of the band which rests on the top of the container. The battery can be held down in place on a vehicle &c. by straps 25 passing through an offset portion of the band as shown in Fig. 8. Specification 271,019 is referred to.
