Abstract

349,755. Suitcase &c. handles. TAYLOR, J. and MARSH, L. D., 150, Portland Street, Walsall. May 8, 1930, No. 14117. [Class 133.] A handle for a suitcase, gramophone case, &c. is formed with wedge-shaped ends 3 engaging in correspondingly-shaped sockets 2 of inverted box-like form attached to the case. The handle part comprises a strip of spring steel 4 enclosed between layers of leather &c. 1, a strip of fibre or the like 8 being interposed between the steel and the upper leather layer. At the ends are provided T-shaped metal stiffening tabs 5 either laid over or secured to or formed integral with the steel strip. The inner edges of the sockets are upwardly curved at 7 to conform to the shape the handle assumes when in use.
