Abstract

270,629. Ereky, C. May 7, 1926, [Convention date]. Medicinal preparations; extracts, making.-In the manufacture of medicines for human beings, green fodder, including all green plants or plant waste, vegetables, and medicinal herbs, is subjected to a cutting-up process which disrupts the cells. The process may be carried out in a stream of liquid, which may be the thin pulp derived from a previous operation. This thin pulp is protected from decay by formaldehyde or sulphurous acid. The pulp so obtained may be divided into two parts, one containing the cell juice, which is rich in plasma, the other containing the cell-wall residues. The pulp, or the cell juice, may be treated by cooling, or by disinfectants, or both, and may be stored. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states also that the water may be extracted at a low temperature and reduced pressure, disinfectants, e.g. formaldehyde or sulphurous acid, being added. The cell-wall residues may also be dried and stored. The pulp or cell juice may also be kneaded with the pulverized dry product of a previous operation, or with flour, starch, &c., or other powdered substance, and formed into plates &c. and dried. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
