Abstract

270,501. Smith, W. B. June 2, 1926, Chain guards. - A bracket adapted to be secured to a chain guard of ordinary con. struction, in order to facilitate its attachment to the chain stay of a cycle, com. prises a segmental plate having a base or flange portion d adapted to be secured to the inner vertical face of the chain guard, and a raised body portion e provided with a horizontal depression f formed therein to fit the chain stay. The bracket is attached to the chain stay by a clip adapted to be secured by screws engaging threaded sockets i in lugs i<2>, which are formed of double thickness of metal by turning over integral ears on the blank from which the bracket is made. The flange d is secured to the chain guard by screws engaging threaded sockets d<3> in parts d<2> of double thickness, also formed by turning over integral ears.
