Ornamenting.-A fireplace surround comprises interchangeable paper, fabric, or similar decorative material arranged behind sheet glass removably held in a frame by easily-releasable securing-means. The surround shown comprises fixed metal frames c, d, respectively around and within the fireplace and mantel openings, in which sheets of glass g, f are secured by screws h set obliquely in the frames. The decorative material e behind the glass may be placed directly against the jambs of the fireplace, or may be stretched over other sheet material, such as three-ply wood.
