Abstract

269,564. Siemens - SchuckeXtwerke Ges. April 8, 1925, [Convention date]. Refrigerating, absorption machines and processes for.-In continuous-cycle absorption systems for refrigerating or for heating by utilization of waste heat, refrigerant gas separated by heat from solution in a generator 71 is led to the bottom of a risen pipe 62, where it meets and lifts strong solution flowing from the absorber 60. The mixed gas and solution rise to a gas separation chamber 69 from which the liquid flows down to the generator 71 while the gas may flow by a pipe 64 to a second similar riser pipe 63 and gas separation chamber 65. The gas expelled in the generator is thus diverted from the separation chamber and compelled to meet strong solution, to which it gives up any solvent vapour, whereby rectification is effected. The apparatus shown is described in Specification 250,593, and includes an ejector device 86, described in Specification 229,332, in the pipe 77 conveying neutral gas from the absorber to the cold generator or evaporator 61.
