Corpses, treatment of.-A compartment 9 containing formaldehyde or other disinfecting liquid is arranged at the narrow end of a coffin, the vapours of the disinfectant being conducted through a pipe 10 ending in a funnel at the head' end of the coffin. The corpse is contained within a cradle 1 having a double bottom between which is contained an absorbent material such as a mixture of powdered charcoal, dry saw-dust and quicklime.
