Abstract

269,173. Soc. Anon. J. Cockerill. April 8, 1926, [Convention date]. Bracings. - Blast furnace stacks are hooped by means of a number of sections B which are connected to upright posts or struts A extending over the whole height of the stack. The posts A, of which there may be six or eight, are each constituted by a steel plate p and a pair of angle irons C. The ends of the members B are provided with bolts b, which pass through holes a in the posts and are secured in position by nuts d. Cross bolts r are also provided. The sections may be in alignment, or in staggered relation.
